American Indian Center - NEWLY RENOVATED!!

Visit The Portal Institute to explore The Belize Fund’s newly renovated American Indian Center. Just completed, there are two new exhibits showing life on the Oglala Lakota Reservation.  See over a hundred new artifacts and items that illustrate life on the Pine Ridge Reservation.  In addition, explore the Center’s extensive arrowhead collection from the Susquehannock Indians, as well as seeing the artwork from the Plains Indians and as far away as the Southwest.

Come to Portal for a short time or spend the day.  You will enjoy every moment spent here.  Allow yourself to “simply be” on the grounds once walked by American Indians.

OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR BELIZE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS

This past October we spent a week in Belize at the Zion Park Methodist School. We brought needed supplies and resources with us, in addition to three shipments sent earlier. We spent time demonstrating use of the resources and compiling a list for future trips.  And we assisted teachers by fulfilling their requests, exchanging ideas, and giving positive feedback. We worked with students in small groups and full classes, Grades 1 - 8. Their smiles, hugs, and gratitude filled our hearts. It was a rewarding experience we will continue when we return to Belize in early April 2014.
